The Hopkins-Nanjing Center (HNC) is a bilingual graduate program in international studies, jointly administered by Johns Hopkins University and Nanjing University in China. Students earn a graduate certificate or master’s degree in China, advance their Chinese language skills, and gain a multidisciplinary foundation in international affairs and China studies. Students also have the option to continue their studies at Johns Hopkins SAIS campuses in Washington, DC and Bologna, Italy. The Hopkins-Nanjing Center can take your Chinese language—and your career—to the next level. Students take courses on topics such as Chinese foreign policy, ethnic minorities in Chinese society, environmental issues, and international trade taught in Chinese by Chinese professors.
Dedicated to supporting students, we offer guaranteed scholarships for all students who apply for financial aid. We also offer a number of named scholarships, including a Diversity Scholarship for students from diverse backgrounds and experiences; a US-China Exchange Scholarship for students who are alumni of US-government supported programs in China such as the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship, the Critical Language Scholarship, and the Pickering Fellowship; and a Student Leader Scholarship for students who have held a leadership position in a China-related organization on their college campus or in the community.
