Program Director and Senior Fellow, Center for New American Security (CNAS)

The Center for a New American Security (CNAS) seeks to hire a Program Director and Senior Fellow for its Asia-Pacific Security Program. This individual will be responsible for leading the program; conceptualizing, managing, and executing research projects; informing and elevating national debates related to the Asia-Pacific; and convening and engaging with stakeholders. He or she will also contribute to CNAS’ broader work related to national security.

The Asia-Pacific Security Program has an ambitious research agenda which includes sharpening America’s edge in the strategic competition with China; strengthening U.S. alliances and partnerships across the region; and managing the security challenges posed by North Korea. Research activities range from tabletop exercises to roundtable series to policy studies informed by extensive fieldwork. Drawing on the knowledge and real-world experience of its team and associated adjuncts, along with its network of public and private sectors partners, the program provides policymakers in the United States, the Asia-Pacific, and interested third regions with concrete ideas and recommendations on Asia-Pacific security issues.
