Summer Resident Director Positions in China and Taiwan, American Councils for International Education

American Councils for International Education is seeking qualified Resident Directors to work in China and Taiwan on programs ranging six to eight weeks in length. Individual programs are designed for high school or college and graduate students. Programs are held in a variety of locations in China or Taiwan from early June to August 2019.

Resident Directors are the first-level of support for students for the duration of the program, and provide support to the students’ academic success, cultural adjustment, and health and safety. Resident Directors are expected to be on-call during the program and report to American Councils regularly, particularly if adjustment, health, or safety issues occur. This is a non-teaching position.

Competitive applicants will have demonstrated student support experience for high school, undergraduate, or graduate students, and/or experience supporting a study abroad or language immersion program in China or Taiwan. Applicants must have advanced proficiency in Mandarin Chinese. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all positions are filled.
