The Mandarin Society promotes more productive U.S.-China relations by:
- serving as a platform and network for Chinese language-study alumni on China or U.S.-China policy issues;
- creating a broad, inclusive network that extends beyond the traditional policy centers of Washington D.C. and Beijing to the many dispersed locations where alumni are active;
- organizing Chinese-language policy talks by visiting officials and professionals from China
- promoting the development of Chinese language studies in the U.S.;
- organizing and facilitating opportunities for exchange and dialogue between U.S. and Chinese leaders and professionals;
- organizing a Chinese-language leadership development program in Beijing
- hosting an annual Chinese-language policy conference in Washington, D.C.
- disseminating relevant works by members to the member community; and
- publishing occasional policy briefs and editorials on issues of U.S.-China relations
