Dr. Liwei Jiao received his PhD in Chinese linguistics from Nankai University in 2003. Before coming to Brown in 2018, he had taught Chinese at Renmin University of China, the University of Durham in England and University of Pennsylvania for twenty years. He frequently teaches Advanced Modern Chinese, Beginning Chinese and Business Chinese. His research interests include Chinese lexicography, Chinese phonetics and the relationship between Chinese language and culture.
