Maintaining your Chinese skills and finding new ways to improve them are major challenges for Chinese students of all levels. Students returning from study programs in China will find that classes in the U.S. are unable to provide the immersion experience they need to see true progress. Even professionals who work in Chinese related fields may find that while their speaking has improved, they have trouble recalling how to write characters they once knew so well. Regardless of which aspect of your Chinese you wish to improve, we hope to provide you with a guide to finding and effectively using the wealth of resources already available to maintain and improve your Chinese.

This guide is divided into five sections: Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing/Vocabulary, and Testing (HSK/TOP/other standardized tests). For a full list of the resources we have collected, you can browse our Resources List.
